Before Cirque du Soleil started its entertainment Empire in Las Vegas, Magic shows and variety shows were some of the most popular shows in Las Vegas like the famous Sigfried and Roy located in the Mirage hotel in the Vegas Strip. In 1993 everything changed and saw the emergence of something extraordinary on the famous Las Vegas Strip. This was the year Cirque du Soleil introduced Mystère, a show that started a new era of entertainment in the city, setting the stage for a series of remarkable performances.

But don’t get me wrong, I love all 5 of the Cirque shows mentioned in this list and can guarantee you that each of these shows offers something unique. However, I’m still forced to do this ranking and share my insights and highlights of each of these shows. One more thing, Cirque du Soleil offers 6 shows in Las Vegas however I will only rank 5 of the shows because The Show Mad Apple opened a week after my last Vegas Strip so I still need to see this show to form an opinion and include it in this ranking. Choosing a ranking for Cirque du Soleil’s Las Vegas shows was no easy feat, especially when it came to placing Michael Jackson ONE at number 5. As a lifelong admirer of the legendary King of Pop since my childhood, this show holds a special place in my heart. The decision was further complicated by the fact that it’s not only a tribute to an icon but also one of the most recent Cirque productions in Las Vegas( well almost 10 years now), along with Mad Apple. Nevertheless, this electrifying show deserves its spot for reasons that are both deeply personal and artistically significant.

Attending Michael Jackson ONE was a stroke of sheer luck that added to its significance for me. I had secured Rear Mezzanine tickets, only to find them unexpectedly unavailable upon arrival. To my astonishment, the usher upgraded me to VIP seats as compensation. It was a serendipitous turn of events that granted me a prime view of the spectacle that unfolded.

Situated at the iconic Mandalay Bay, Michael Jackson ONE is a spellbinding showcase of the King of Pop’s unparalleled showmanship. This show turned me into an ardent fan of The Beatles, even inspiring me to attend a Paul McCartney concert – a testament to the magic it wove. Actually, the Album won a Grammy Award and it’s worth listening to on your favorite music streaming platform.

Something really unique about this show is the theater itself, this is not your typical stage design with a proscenium but actually more of a surrounding stage where actors and props show up from every corner. There are also moments in the show where elements of the performance require interaction from all public attending the show.

And the way they use lights? It sets the mood for each moment, and it’s like they’re painting with light.

My Favorite Acts:

There are multiple acts that caught my attention on this show from the Opening Sequence which is a slow burn but totally worth it once the Get Back Remix Dance starts happening, it is simply Incredible. Also, the Remix they made with I am the Walrus and a Hip Hop Dancer even if it’s quite a simple act, the Hip Hop dancer impressed me quite a lot. Last but not least the “Here Comes the sun” act is beautifully staged and one of the most visually stunning moments of the show.

A Must for Beatles Music Lovers

Whether you’re a Beatles buff or just love a good time, make sure to catch The Beatles LOVE. There is not much time Left to See this show

It was recently announced that the Mirage Hotel will be closing soon to create a brand new Hard Rock Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. This brings a little bit of uncertainty to The Beatles Love because once the hotel closes, the probabilities that the show will close are really high. So far no official confirmation has been announced but it is very logical to think that Love will probably close this 2023 unless the MGM Company decides to bring the show to another hotel like the Luxor or Aria Resort though this is very unlikely to happen with all the technical requirements that need to be done to have a custom built theatre to host the show. Time will Tell!!

The clown in this Cirque du Soleil show is one of the best clown Acts I’ve ever seen on any Cirque show, it’s funny and I was laughing so hard with every interaction the baby clown had with random members of the audience.

I’ve been privileged to experience O in all its magnificence on ten occasions, each time reaffirming its place as my all-time favorite Cirque du Soleil show. Crafted by the visionary Franco Dragone, the show’s allure is accentuated by the elegant theater, a haven of beauty and mystique.

What is O?

O by Cirque du Soleil is a mesmerizing aquatic wonder that takes you on an enchanting journey through water and imagination. This masterpiece, residing in the Bellagio Las Vegas since 1998, seamlessly blends artistry, acrobatics, and water elements to create an unparalleled spectacle that’s etched in memory. The name of the Show O comes from the pronunciation of the French Word Eaux which translated means Water.

A Symphony of Elegance

In O, the stage is transformed into a stunning aquatic playground where artists and athletes perform awe-inspiring feats. Divers plunge from staggering heights, synchronizing their movements with the ebb and flow of the water. Acrobats dance on the water’s surface, defying gravity with seamless grace. The seamless integration of water, fire, and earth elements weaves a tapestry of sensory delight.

O has one of the Best Opening Scenes of any Cirque du Soleil Show and also a fascinating closing sequence involving some magic and visual effects on Stage. I’m always looking forward to seeing these moments in the show.

O The Crown Jewel of Las Vegas Entertainment

To me, O is the unrivaled crown jewel of Las Vegas entertainment. Amid the realm of live shows, where attempts like Le Rêve in Las Vegas sought to emulate its magic, O stands triumphant. While imitations have faded, this show remains an unwavering force. It’s more than just a performance; it’s poetry and dreams intertwined.

Even if Mystere is the Original Cirque du Soleil show that started the Magic in Las Vegas, I dare to say that O is the one that built the international reputation that Cirque du Soleil has up til this day. During the first ten years of this show people around the world were mindblown and recommended to their friends this show. The cancellation line was even a 4 hour wait before the show started to see if some audience members were lucky to get a ticket.

O is a beacon that has ignited water-based show phenomena worldwide. Its impact transcends the stage, inspiring other mesmerizing aquatic productions. As I sit amidst its aquatic symphony, I’m reminded that O is not merely a show; it’s an immersion into a world of wonder, a dream realized through breathtaking acts and awe-inspiring creativity.

Even 25 years after its debut at the Bellagio Las Vegas, “O” captivates audiences with sold-out performances, a testament to its timeless allure and the artistry that Cirque du Soleil so masterfully weaves.

In fact, another popular water show in Las Vegas was created by the same Director Franco Dragone to create this brand new show: Le Reve at the Wynn Las Vegas which closed in 2021 as a result of the Pandemic.
