The Ultimate EPCOT Guide to Drinking Around the World Fantastic Experience

The allure of EPCOT’s  World Showcase goes beyond its architectural splendor, cultural exhibitions, Rides and tantalizing cuisine—it extends to a spirited adventure known as the “Drinking Around the World” experience.

For adults seeking a unique and entertaining escapade at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, this activity adds a flavorful twist to the traditional theme park visit. Navigating the pavilions of 11 different countries, the challenge involves in trying typical drinks from each country, creating a cultural and, at times, whimsical journey around the World Showcase Lagoon.

This article will be sharing my EPCOT Drinking Around the World Experience and review of some of the best drinks you can find throughout multiple bars in World Showcase.

Cocktail Exploration through 11 Countries

Step into each pavilion, and you’ll find a whole world of drinks waiting to be discovered, reflecting the unique drinking culture of that nation. Start your journey with the bold and spirited tequila-based concoctions in Mexico, then meander through the refined wines of France and the robust beers of Germany. The choices are as varied and vibrant as the countries they represent.

The Drinking Around the World challenge is like a choose-your-own-adventure according to your personal taste. It’s all about tailoring the experience to your liking. Whether you’re an adventurous soul aiming to sip a different drink in every country or someone who prefers a shared experience, the journey is yours to customize. Some dive headfirst into the mission of trying something new at each stop, while others opt for a shared expedition, creating cherished memories with friends along the way.

Drink Responsibly for a pleasant and safe Experience:

Drinking Around the World is about enjoyment, but it’s crucial to do so responsibly. Staying hydrated, pacing oneself, and making informed choices are key to ensuring a memorable and safe journey around the World Showcase. Moderation adds to the enjoyment, allowing you to savor each experience without overindulging.

Things you should know about my Recent EPCOT drinking around the World Experience

As I share my experience, it’s important to note that, in the spirit of responsible enjoyment, I opted not to conquer all 11 countries in a single go—after all, I was on a family trip and moderation is key. However, I’ll gladly recount the beverages I did savor and the unique atmosphere each pavilion brought to my drinking escapade.

Where and How to Start your Drinking Around the World Experience

Most of the times, the  Drinking Around the World challenge begins in Mexico, laying the foundation for a clockwise or counterclockwise journey (if you pick to start in Canada) so make your choice when arriving into World Showcase.

From the vibrant streets of Mexico, guests traverse through the diverse cultural landscapes of Norway, China, Germany, Italy, the United States, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and finally, Canada. Each pavilion promises a unique cocktail experience, offering a glimpse into the traditions, architecture, and flavors of its respective country.

My Favorite Cocktail and Spot to Drink Around the World: Mexico Pavilion

Tucked away in the heart of the Mexican pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase is my go-to spot for pure joy – La Cava del Tequila. This bar is one of the most popular places to have a drink not just only in EPCOT but actually in the whole Disney World Property. Celebrities like Lilly Allen, Neil Patrick Harris and Bryan Cranston visit this Tequila Bar everytime they visit Disney World.

What keeps me coming back to La Cava del Tequila is its world famous Avocado Margarita – a drink that’s nothing short of a masterpiece. Picture this: fresh avocado, lime juice, white tequila, melon liqueur, and agave nectar dancing together in a glass. The result? A mesmerizing green elixir that’s as unique as it is refreshing, giving the classic margarita a run for its money. La Cava’s dedication to blending tradition with innovation is evident in every sip.

The Horchata Margarita and the Tamarindo Mezcalita are Must-Do cocktails

The Horchata Margarita

On my recent visit, I decided to try new cocktails in la Cava del Tequila like the Horchata Margarita – a creamy blend of horchata, cinnamon goodness, and a spirited kick of tequila. And let’s not forget my mom, who took a bold sip of the Tamarindo Margarita, where the addition of Mezcal brought a smoky depth to the sweet and tangy tamarind infusion.

La Cava del Tequila isn’t just a bar; it’s the kick-off point for an epic Drinking Around the World adventure. Keep an eye out for my upcoming article, where I spill all the details about the vibrant atmosphere, diverse libations, and the special magic that makes La Cava del Tequila an essential stop on any EPCOT journey. Cheers to the start of fun Drinking Experience.

Deutschland: It’s Time for a German Beer

Strolling through the German pavilion’s charming streets with their old-school vibe, I got my hands on a proper German beer, and boy, it was like a taste of tradition. The beer was more than just malty goodness and a crisp finish – it felt like a salute to German culture and all the good vibes that come with it.

This time, I went for the famous Grapefruit Schofferhoffer Beer. Let me tell you, this beer is my jam. It’s easy-drinking, got these sweet notes that make every sip a little delight. And hey, my buddy went for the classic German beer – you know, keeping it real on the tradition front.

Quick tip for you if you’re thinking of doing your own Drinking Around the World gig: most folks crowd around the kiosks on the outer side of the German Pavilion. But guess what? I’ve got this trick where I head to the back, right next to the entrance of the Biergarten restaurant. There’s another spot with the same beers and snacks, and the best part? Fewer people in line, saving you time for more sipping and less waiting.

And, oh yeah, never forget the pretzel. Grab one with your beer – trust me, it’s like the yin and yang of German pavilion snacking. Here’s to toasting to traditions, good times, and uncovering the heart of Germany, one sip at a time! Cheers! 🍻

Italian Pavilion: A tale of Espresso Martinis and other typical Italian Cocktails

Italy at EPCOT is like stepping into a glass of pure joy, and my exploration went beyond the classic Aperol Spritz. Picture this: my friend and I, basking in the bittersweet notes of Aperol, mixed with prosecco and a splash of soda. It perfectly captured the essence of the leisurely Italian lifestyle, setting the stage for a day filled with delightful discoveries.

One such gem was the Paper Plane cocktail—a lively mix of bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and fresh lemon juice. It’s a zesty and smooth dance party for your taste buds, each sip feeling like a mini celebration with its burst of citrusy goodness.

The Espresso Martinis, another stop on this flavor journey, were a java-infused dream. Vodka, coffee liqueur, freshly brewed espresso, and a dash of simple syrup created the perfect balance of rich coffee flavor and subtle sweetness. Sipping on these concoctions beneath the Italian pavilion’s charm felt like a magical caffeine-fueled experience.

And let’s not forget the Peach Sparkling Wine that my mom indulged in—sweet but not overwhelming, with just the right touch of peachy goodness to make it a bubbly delight.

Here’s to Italy, where every glass is a toast to joy, the sweet life, and the endless exploration of delightful flavors! 🇮🇹🍹

France Pavilion: Time to try some of EPCOT’s Iconic Drinks

EPCOT’s French Pavilion is a direct journey to culinary joy, and my experience there was nothing short of enchanting. Among the stars were the iconic drinks – the Orange Grand Marnier Slush and the Grey Goose Citron Slush.

The Orange Grand Marnier Slush, a legend in its own right, is a concoction of Grand Marnier, Rum, Grey Goose Orange, and orange juice. It’s a vibrant burst of citrusy goodness, with a delightful boozy kick that makes it a crowd-pleaser. On the flip side, the Grey Goose Citron Slush offers a different kind of thrill with its blend of Grey Goose Citron vodka, lemon juice, and a touch of Sweet & Sour Mix. Each sip is like a burst of French sunshine – refreshing, zesty, and utterly satisfying.

What struck me the most was how distinct each drink was, showcasing the French artistry in mixology. These frozen delights aren’t just popular; they are a testament to the French commitment to crafting drinks that are not only visually stunning but also an absolute delight to the palate.

For those seeking a more traditional experience, the French Pavilion offers a selection of champagne and traditional French wine. Whether you’re indulging in the effervescent charm of champagne or savoring the nuanced flavors of a classic French wine, the options are as diverse and enchanting as the pavilion itself.

Rose and Crown British Pub – A Cheers to EPCOT’s Grand Finale:

As my Drinking Around the World journey in EPCOT reached its finale, the Rose and Crown British Pub emerged as the perfect closing act. Located in the United Kingdom pavilion, this charming pub exudes the authentic warmth of a British local, making it an excellent choice to conclude the spirited adventure.

Upon entering, I kicked things off with a classic Guiness Beer, setting the tone for an authentic British experience. The pub’s cozy atmosphere, complete with dark wood interiors and friendly chatter, made it an inviting haven.

For the grand finale, I opted for the notorious Irish Car Bomb, a concoction of Irish whiskey, Irish cream, and stout beer. The trick with this explosive mix is to drink it fast before the ingredients curdle, creating a delightful rush of flavors. It was a fitting end to my global sip-a-thon, an experience that encapsulated the lively spirit of EPCOT’s World Showcase.

As I savored the last drops, my friend opted for a more traditional Lager Beer, a simple yet satisfying choice. With our drinks in hand, we made our way to catch the mesmerizing fireworks of EPCOT Forever, painting the night sky with a spectacular display of lights.

The Rose and Crown British Pub proved to be more than just a pub; it was the crescendo of an unforgettable journey, a place where the clinking of glasses echoes the vibrant spirit of the United Kingdom. Here’s to the Rose and Crown – the grand finale in EPCOT’s intoxicating global tapestry! 🇬🇧🍻

Final Thoughts on the Drinking Around the World Experience:

Embarking on the Drinking Around the World at EPCOT isn’t just about drinks; it’s a cultural exploration and a chance to make lasting memories. My own adventure through the World Showcase revealed that while it’s undeniably fun, it comes with responsibilities.

It’s crucial to stress the importance of drinking responsibly. While the idea of trying drinks from around the globe is exciting, recognizing your limits is key. You don’t have to try every drink – go for what appeals most to you. Overindulgence could jeopardize your well-being and result in consequences like being asked to leave the park or facing a permanent ban from Disney World property.

For those ready to embrace the challenge, the Drinking Around the World tradition is enjoyable. The key is to savor each drink, appreciating the craftsmanship and unique flavors in each pavilion.

A standout recommendation is La Cava del Tequila Bar in the Mexico Pavilion. Their drinks are a testament to mixology artistry, making it a must-visit in EPCOT’s drinking scene.

If you’re up for the 11-drinks challenge, budget around 100 to 130 dollars. For a more moderate pace with 3 to 4 drinks, plan around 80 USD. It’s not about quantity; it’s about the quality of the experience.

Cheers to an unforgettable journey through cultures, flavors, and a toast to responsible and enjoyable imbibing. Drink responsibly, savor the moments, and enjoy the unique charm of EPCOT’s Drinking Around the World! 🌐🍹
